Broken Ankle Aventures

Titanium Rose

There you have it!

I operated and functioned on that for four weeks before this xray.

Yes, I was in pain. Someone mentioned later that I must have a high pain tolerance. Yes, I do.

The part you aren't able to see on the far right of the broken bone is that the break is all the way through.

I have a second xray picture to share. However, it's on my husband's, +Paul M Edwards', phone in PDF format. He's too busy to transform it to an image file. I'll try my best to describe and explain from my memory what I saw on the new xray.

After the above xray was done I went online to find an immobilizer boot. Very similar to this:

I wore this for two weeks before the 2nd xray. It's definitely an immobilizer.

Since I continued to use my foot/ankle after it was broken before doing anything to properly treat it the break was still like it was fresh. So, the healing while wearing the boot was a fresh start.

The far right part that's not as visible in the xray here has started healing first because it was the least damaged and a smaller sliver of break. So, on the new xray there's a visible mark that looks like a patch of concrete that was just thrown down and left to cure. Like a clump. The rest of the xray looks much the same as above.

The injury happened on September 27th, 2013. The 1st xray was taken on October 25th. I started wearing the boot on November 6th, 2013. I will have to continue its use until between December 18th, 2013 and January 1st, 2014. The week of Dec 18th I'll have another xray done to see the progress of the healing. At some point I'll move to an ankle support. Then I'll begin my aggressive physiotherapy to rebuild my muscle and strength.

What caused the injury?

Well, let's say, I had a disagreement with a concrete jersey barrier on a transfer ramp between highways while on my motorcycle. Now, before your mind goes all crazy with imaginative imagery, I never came off the motorcycle nor did I once go down. I just kept going.

Funny story about that too. The Bikers For Christ chapter we're members of decided to rename my road name from Lady Gladiator to Titanium Rose.
I already have some titanium in my left knee from a motorcycle accident in 2010. Also, my countenance is like a delicate flower. I'm tough yet delicate.

Diet, Massage & Fibromyalgia

Donna Brickwood, a massage therapist, demonstrates on Andrea Rich how she works with clients suffering from fibromyalgia. Rich does not have fibromyalgia.
Today, in my reading I came across a great article. It reaffirms that diet affects anyone with fibromyalgia and that massage therapy and proper diet facilitates relief from the pain and discomfort associated with fibromyalgia.

Motorcycling, vitamins and relocation

Hello Friends.

I apologize for the inactivity here. It seems as though the restructuring of the Sea Supplements business is dragging its feet. It's a very long story. Suffice it to say, it has been a huge legal ordeal for the original business.

A shot from my
2013 Spring Tour Rally.
In the meantime, I've found that swansonvitamins.com sells a shark liver oil supplement that I've been using since October 2012. It seems to work quite well.

You'll notice a huge gap in my post dates between 2010 and 2012. In August 2010, I had a fairly serious motorcycle accident. I was going through healing and recovery. My left side was injured, from my shoulder to my big toe. In fact, I've lost a portion of the big toenail. As you read that you thought I was going to say I lost a portion of a body part, didn't you? Isn't a toenail a body part, sort of? I actually have a torn ligament in my left shoulder that wasn't serious enough for surgery. But, the most serious injury was my left knee. I had to have minor reconstructive surgery. They did it as out-patient surgery. They replaced my ACL with a cadaver ligament and did meniscectomy [cleaned up the torn up bits of the meniscus and smoothed it out].

My system is so sensitive that all the drugs pumped into me messed me up. So, all the great progress I made in 2009 leading up to August 2010 went down the tubes. Even the supplements I was taking weren't doing their job. For 2 yrs I went through recovery. I hit rock bottom with all this in October 2012. I went to swanson vitamins online and re-evaluated the supplements, vitamins and minerals I was taking. I hadn't had any shark liver oil for some time. So, I corrected my supplements with better choices and added the shark liver oil back into my regimen.

At the end of October, my husband, +Paul Edwards, had ordered a workout at home system that arrived in November. Right away, we both began to work out. Great results began to show up for both of us. I had long since been eating organic produce and cooking from scratch recipes at home. I'm almost back where I was before my accident in August 2010.

Now, to throw a monkey wrench into the show again... we're trying to get packed to relocate from Seattle/Tacoma Metro Area to Los Angeles Metro Area. It's hard to get a workout in. I feel stressed enough that I'm sleeping roughly and it's causing neck strain which is affecting the rest of my body. It'll all be worth it in the end though. We'll be relocating to a warmer/sunnier area. We'll be able to go motorcycling more and have fun.

All that to say that I am back on track with better health with a few roadblocks to detour through. God has really blessed us immensely! Praise HIS Name!

Keep your eyes peeled for more soon! Happy Friday!

Update: Health

Hello everyone. Welcome to the blog.

For the past several months I've been reorganized my lifestyle and diet. My health has improved massively.

I hoped a friend's scales the other day while visiting just out of curiosity and I've lost more weight. I'm down from 198 to 182. I don't generally go by weight because I'm a muscular. And muscle weighs more than fat. I typically go by inches. So, in order to understand better how things are I measure instead of weigh. I've went from a size 18 to a size 15. My clothes are quite baggy on me.

Later this Summer I'll get a picture and compare it to one taken in December 2008 Just so you can see the difference.

Please check back for updates!

My Salad

It is made with 100% organic produce. Different greens, onion, radish, zucchini, cucumber, snow peas, carrots and a vinaigrette dressing. Sometimes I slice up raw garlic and place it in the salad. Not this time. I had a wonderful beef steak with this salad. I'll remember to take a picture of the beef steak another time.

Diet lifestyle change

It has been such a long while since my last post. How dreadful. I apologize.

In late May early June I made some changes to my diet lifestyle to accompany seabiotics.

I continue to see improvements in everything that I've listed previously. Now, add organic foods and a proper eating schedule. I've switched to organic food in an effort to aid in the healing of my cells to allow my body a better chance for improvement. In doing so I've been slowly shrinking. I haven't used a scales to weigh however. What I'm using as a guide is my dress size. Last year at this time I was in a size 18/1X. I'm most likely at a size 14/15 [maybe]. I don't have the funds to renew a wardrobe so I'm continuing in the same clothings. It's beginning to make me look awful however. Eventually I'm going to have to switch to more fit clothes. I may have to make some visits to a local thrift store to accommodate. I shall be able to save money since I'm not sure what size I will stop at and I do not want to buy too many things and then have to get more things to fit still again.

I've been sleeping and dreaming. I love it! I remember when I was young dreaming; it was all in great detail and in color. It's back! {grinz}

As for the organic products; I've been buying fresh produce weekly. I've had the most grand salads. It's been quite lovely. I shall remember to take a snapshot of a salad and post it up.

That's it for now! Watch for further updates.

SKIN

I'm so excited to report...

My skin is improving now. I'm having less breakouts from Keratosis Pilaris. Click to read what it is. I have both types.

Other things are improving. It's like the other time I could tell something was happening but couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe in the next couple weeks I'll be able to report on it.

Please contact me with any questions, concerns or comments.

Thanks for your support!

Updating you [good stuff]

I'm continually blown away at the progress I'm making on seabiotics. When I have been doing activities that make me sore my recovery time is much quicker than prior to using seabiotics. It usually takes about 10 days for the pain to subsite. It's 3 days past some activities I did that normally knock me off my feet for days. All I'm experiencing right now is some soreness.

One of the other things that I'm noticing a change in is my menstrual cycles. My cramping is considerably less. Previous to the use of seabiotics I would be laid up for days upon cycle starting. I would have cramping so bad I couldn't stand up. I've noticed that I only had to take one dose of ibuprofen (100 mgs) at the onset of cycle starting. Previously I was taking 2 doses a day for about 4 days out of the 7.

Blood sugar improvements

Building on the last post. This past week I was noticing something changing in my body but wasn't able to put a finger on it until today [Mon. Apr. 13th].

I was in a big hurry. I drank a nice cup of coffee and got ready to go to see my chiropractor. In my harried state I didn't eat any breakfast. I got home from chiropractor's office. I got all caught up in other things here at home. Before you know it lunchtime was long past and it was time for afternoon activities. My husband asked me if I was hungry. I was joking and said that I was starving. However, in reality, and I told him later, I really wasn't starving. I was barely feeling hungry. We set out to take care of some personal stuff. Then around 4 O' Clock pm we stopped at Quiznos subs to grab a bite. It wasn't until then I was actually feeling hungry.

On our way we were discussing about how I was feeling. Looking back at some of my other posts I mentioned that I noticed some good progress in my mental health. Well, building on that I was noticing that even without eating all day I wasn't grumpy and frazzled ready to scream because my body chemistry was way off. I felt fine, in fact.

Looking back at the video from my last post the man spoke about how cells work. Well, that's exactly what is taking place in me. My cells are starting to work properly. The blood sugar thing was a major home run for me though. I was always having sugar dives and feeling like I was going to pass out because I wasn't able to sustain a balanced glucose level. That's correcting in me NOW.

Mental Health

I've noticed less depression & anxiety as I progress. I've mentioned before about having more energy.

The fog that goes with fibromyalgia can get pretty dense at times. I can remember situations where I completely had no clue what was being said to me. Almost like people were talking gibberish. I've not noticed that so much anymore. I still have light fog. Baby steps!

I was in severe pain for over 20 yrs of my life. I'm noticing less of the sharpness in pain. Pain is lightening but it's still present. The pain is more bearable.

I believe I touched on acid reflux and heart burn. They're not one in the same. Heart burn is a painful and burning sensation in the esophagus, just below the breastbone usually associated with regurgitation of gastric acid. The pain often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw. Acid reflux is an actual disease most commonly referred to as GERDs (look it up). It is a common condition and an abnormal one in which acid in the stomach rises up into the esophagus. This occurs because the valve separating the contents of the stomach from the esophagus does not function properly. The acid reflux seems to have corrected. The heart burn is down to an occasional belch. Sometimes people having heart attacks think it's just heart burn because some of the symptoms cross over.

Seabiotics is great in helping deal with heart disease.

I've noticed that I'm sleeping better as well.

How cells work in our bodies

I want to say that due to some unrelated issues I missed an entire week of posting here. I'm back on track. I continue to see improvements. I have existing permanent injuries that Seabiotics will take its time in working on. It doesn't take the injury away. However, it does make things less stressful and more manageable.

The video I'm sharing is of another business person with his business link in the video. Please use my link listed below.

I'm sharing this video because the way he explains the cells simplistically; allowing you to see how Seabiotics is so powerful in restoring one to good health.

Starting 3rd week -- Progress report

I wanted to share this video I came across. What I want to point out is that I'm seeing the same kind of results this video shows. Also, I wanted to use video to allow you to hear other people's voices and their stories of how Seabiotics is helping them. I also came across another video that explains very simplistically how the cells work in our bodies and what's happened to cause all this sickness and dis-ease we are having. I'll post that later. I don't want to overwhelm anyone.

Progress Week 2

I didn't post anything over the weekend because I was busy and distracted.

One noticeable difference at this point is considerably less pain upon waking and that I'm sleeping better. However, (and this is just my opinion) I've been very sleepy since starting seabiotics. I think the reason is because the product is kicked into high gear and really working hard on my cells. Like a baby sleeping because it's growing or a person sleeping while healing from illness. My body feels as though it wants to turn off while the product is doing it's thing. And then when I wake up it will be a new body! Well, because that's not realistic for today's life I simply fight the sleepies. Then I crash hard at night.

The other thing is I've been trying to pay attention to my eating habits. I'm eating better. I believe it facilitates this product's process.

I'm looking forward to what is going to be the end results!

The beginning for me.

I've suffered for many years with thyroid disease & was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia (suffered with this since my early 20s). If you want to follow any part of my fibromyalgia story you can find my blog in my profile here. It's mostly informational though. I researched and read everything I could get my hands on relating to fibromyalgia. I already had some kind of grip on the thyroid disease. Or, I thought so anyway. There's many cross over symptoms with these two. The thing with FM (herein out instead of fibromyalgia) is that it's a bunch of symptoms with no rhyme or reason without a cause to their origin. We have some idea that the thyroid disease is because the thyroid gland isn't producing thryoid hormones correctly. Still, no identifiable reason or cause for this either.

With that being said; there's a lot of confusion and studies going on to figure it out. In the meantime with the research I've done I found herbal/vitamin supplements that help me to be more functional. Without there's basically no functioning. All I could or want to do is lay in bed because of the pain and the horrible brain fog.

In December 2008, I was introduced to a couple of ladies I met in a virtual game online. I chatted with them a bit. One seemed to be the ring leader, so to speak, of some activity going on in the virtual game. So, I met with these people a couple times in the virtual game in a conference chat. I listened to testimony after testimony about a product that was changing people's lives.

There was talk of some deal for buying the product at a lower price. However, because I didn't have the funds to buy any I just let it go. I was still hearing all these testimonies.

Well, I decided to log into one of the gal's web link and check things out on that side of it. I found videos of people sharing their testimonies of this product's wonderful benefits.

This product, yes you guessed it, is Seabiotics. I signed up as a preferred customer of sorts. I'm still trying to figure out that part of it. However, because of my financial situation the ring leader chatted with another person involved with Seabiotics that is part of the virtual game. These people are ALL Christians associated with the "ring leader". Well, the "ring leader" sent me a message one evening telling me that this guy she chatted with is going to send me some seabiotics to get started on it. I was flabbergasted that he would do such a thing for me.

I received two bottles of oil this week (week of 3/1/2009). I feel like such a doofus though. I accidentally dropped one bottle on the ground and it shattered and this precious oil was on the sidewalk. No matter, I still have one. I've been using it this week. I feel something going on inside me. I'm having a bit less pain. However, I've been sleepy. I think it's like someone healing and they sleep during their healing process.

I do have a bit more energy. My brain feels somewhat more clear.

That's it for today though. I'll post more as time goes on. When I see more significant changes and feel better I'll post about that.
